Yes . . . me too

You know what I am only thinking right now ? PLAY SKYRIM ! So I am stuck in my university room while my magnificient PS3 is waiting in my room at my house. . . Seriously Viva el weekend I can't wait to play again. Okay it might feel no life or game addict, but I just feel this way from time to time, a kind of crave to play video games. . . A crave as stong as chocolate craving.

Other than that today I realised how christmas is coming fast. Well in one month today my term will be over and I will be with my family being all festive. I don't know how I got to love that time of the year. I just like to see my family, eat good food and being reunited I guess. . .

Meh there is still a long harsh road before getting there which is : end of term
FIIIGHHHHTOOOOOOOOOO !!!!

Life is Hard (Dakedo) but Happy

Life is certainly hard ! And right now I am at the point where I have to grab what is in front of me to get to the ''happiness'' part. So I will write a bit more about why University the past year has meant hell for me . . . In Québec after highschool we have a little bit more precise scholar establishment called Cégep. There you can do a DEP (Preuniversitary diploma) of 2 years (mainly in Human Sciences, Nature Sciences, Communications and Administration) or you can do a technic of 3 years that gives you the opportunity to get a job afterwards or go to university anyway (DEC-BAC). As for me I went in Human Sciences since I wanted to be a psychoeducator and no technics exist for this profession (only similar ones). My 2 years went with average grades (even tho I did not do my absolute best at it) except in mathematics and economy, I totaly fell in an eternal black hole with these courses which lowered my total grades. Even tho I had some difficulties there I really loved the surrounding, the teachers, well the experience in general.

But once it came to subscription for universities, we didn't take much chances and sent letters in every single one that was giving the program. One after all they came back with a note of rejection. Except for one in Abitibi-Temiscamingue. . . You might not realise it, but Québec is huge and that place is 16 hours in car away from my home and it's quite far from everything so I decided not to go over there and instead subscribed to a program that was accepting everyone and had common courses with what I wanted to do.

Even tho it looks like a good thing, it wasn't. The classes weren't interesting me, so at the end of the first term I asked to change program but was refused again. So I continued in a program that I disliked. At the end of the winter term I was about to demand a change of program again to realise that they weren't accepting any new candidat for next automn, which means (if you followed me well) that I screwed an entire session of 1600 $ and more for nothing. . .

And so summer came, I started to work (2 jobs at a time) while trying to find a university that would want of me. . . I found a program in Social Service near my hometown that was given by my last university and thought it would be a good idea, since it's close and well even tho it's not exactly what I want to do it gives pretty much the same jobs. So I sent the subscription with the money asked for the administration, we sent it by UPS with a signature from the ones that were getting it there AND guess what, they lost it from the docks to the administration office! Of course I couldn't know, I was patiently waiting my answer but the check wasn't passing in my bank transactions. At this same time, our canadian post was in strike so I thought that the delays were caused by this but near the end of July (university starts in lat august) I called and told me they never got my inscription, but I told them I had the signed proof from Purolator that the package made it there, so the women lied to me saying that all the students check would pass in a week or two and that they will send me an e-mail to tell me the answer. No need to tell it was another refusal, plus the check never passed, which means they never had my subscription in hand and when they checked my school folder their groups were probably already full  !

My last option I could think about was to go back to Cegep in another program to find something else and so I went to consult  the counseler there and she found me the certificat that I am doing now. This certificat is the back door to get to the psychoeducation program in a certain university. If I get good grades, I might be taken. If not, I will pretty much be out of solutions.

Do I have to mention that all this was and is still giving me alot of stress and I am not a stressed person at all.

Lately the governement talk about raising the university fees saying we pay less than the other provinces because we made the decision to make university accessible for everybody and thus students should ''do their part''. . . Well what I have to say about this is accessible MY ASS. The school system is full of bureaucrates who are told to do their job slowly, to lie to students in need because of their errors, etc. The money the governement gives to the universities are for marketing, marketing, marketing, football a mere sum is going to the student in the form of loans and grants, which only 20 % of the students have acces to . . .Doing our part ? Or the part you invest in useless shit ?

Oh laziness when you hit me !

Recently I seriously have no energy at all ! No energy and no inspiration. . . So I guess I will just say random stuff. On november 17 it will be the Leonid Meteor Shower, for those who watched Ryusei no Kizuna, well it's that same Meteor Shower. The weather in Quebec should be great for it but I just need to find a place where there is not much city lights. . . And I don't quite know the city soooo it sucks.

Last day I dreamed that I was with the members of Arashi ^^ it was fun ! Somehow, we were singing A Day in our Life and at the end when Ohno-san does all the yeaaahhh yeeeeaaaahhh woooOOOOOHHHH ! I was imitating him and all the other members were laughing XD . . .  And that's it . . . It ended like that    hahaha. But after that, waking up seemed easier and I felt like after a random fun dream like that I could handle anything ! Even the course of Social Problem  . . . Well maybe not that class is way too boring . . .

Quite a small Cameo but well . . .

In Aiba's drama Bartender, a little cameo of Matsujun was inserted, but when I saw it during the episode I could only laugh, but I thought that maybe during the season they would meet. . . but that didn't happen :(
Do you think he got money for only getting his picture put in an album for a question of second in an episode ?
Huuum that would need a deep reflexion. . .

Seriously ?

Bonsoir !
I had to tell you people this. Today I got one of my university course at 3 o'clock and we were reviewing our mid-term exam. I thought that this exam didn't go well and ended up with a 70 % and was quite pissed off (well I had two exams on that day and kinda didn't study enough for this one). So the teacher told us that she didn't correct it and it has been corrected by some random person that did this course in the past years. . . I was already somehow pained to hear that but i thought: oh well anyway. Then while we were reviewing it with my copy at hand, I was totaly mouth open ! This corrector seriously butched her job, I mean, to make it short. . . I now have 78 %, I just went to see the teacher and discused about what I thought was a bit too strict and even not just at all and got 8 more points ^ ^  this makes me above average.

Ok ok it might look insignificative for you, but the thing is that right now I am not in a university program, I am simply doing a certificat that  if I get good grades on this semester I have huge chances of being accepted in the program I want. So for me it's a big deal, 8 % changes alot.

I had alot of bad experiences with university from now and this certificat is my chance. I seriously grew to hate that system that discriminate average people like me who maybe aren't that good with studying but could seriously do a difference on the job, because theory and practice are two different things and someone with good grades may suck on the field. In short please teacher correct your own stuff ! >:( I am not in a big university, the classes are only of 60 people and she has 1 class so come on !  Anyway that was my little anger of the day !

Fangless Wolf Facing Winter

Howdy !
I felt like expressing my incomprehension about that seriously great album. Fangless Wolf Facing Winter is Kevin Parent's first english CD, he is a popular artist in Québec and is known for alot of his great  folk rock success and sexy accent from Gaspésie. My brother made me discover this album that got out in 2007 and never really played on the radio in Québec even tho fans of Kevin rated it 5 stars. . . I knew Kevin Parent like most people but this CD is to me one of his best and if it didn't find his crowd in a francophone place maybe some people out there could enjoy it. It's still folk rock but the feeling is really different from his francophone ones.

Kaibutsu-Kun special 2 . . .Of course I can't be unhappy !

Why do I love Kaibutsu-Kun ? Well, Ohno Satoshi might be a good reason, but also I think I grew to like old japanese comics and I think japanese succed in remaking those old animation. Even YOU who aren't interested in japanese animation may have watched some of them in your youth like : Astro boy, Goldorak, Candy, Albator, Sailor Moon etc.

Kaibutsu-kun was first seen on television in 1968 also Yatterman first appeared in 1977 both were remake recently in live action (real actors) and were excellent, even tho I thought at some point that Yatterman wasn't that much for kids, a little bit too much subliminal and some totaly not subliminal references to sexuality.

Maybe I get easily interested by it because I come from the Pokemon generation, or maybe my kid cheezy side does shows up alot. I have to admit that one of my favorite movie is Feivel Goes West hahaha watching it again is always as much entertaining has when i was 8 years old.

So today I will watch the second special of Kaibutsu-Kun, in a few days a sequel of the series will be out has a movie in Japan, so I sure am happy to be able to get more of this Monster prince.

Here is a preview of the 1968 Kaibutsu-Kun saddly without subtitles but you can still get an idea
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNuC7UyC2oY

And a preview of the special I will watch tonight here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxcgDll7_xk

To tell you in short the story is about the prince of the Monster World who has to go to the human world to take a training to succed to the throne, of course Kaibutsu-kun meets humans but also demons. And so alot of adventures comes forth with his 3 monster friends (or should i say minions) : Dracula, the wolf man and Frankenstein

Do not be scared to dare to watch movies or series from other countries in other languages (with subtitles in english of course) I think asian offers a greater variety and it can be refreshing from the good old american style, even tho I do love some occidental series ( House, Bones, The Game of Thrones, Lost, The Borgias etc.)

Have a good night, what ever you may enjoy watching :)

My Crested Gecko Familia Understructable

(Chikitika 4 years old -The mama-)
Good cloudy day ! So I thought I could introduce my Crested Gecko family. Crested Geckos also called Rhacodactylus ciliatus are lizards  of about 8 inches ( with the tail ) they are tropical and has to be kept in a temperature of idealy 24 to 28 degree celcius (pretty much your daily home temperature) with a humidity of 70 to 80 % (just spray water 2 times a day with a proper substrat and it's done). Of course all the equipement may cost from 100 to 200 $ without the gecko but they are a nice breed to look at and hold. The gecko themselves varies alot depending on the patterns, colors and other rare features but with 60-100$ you can get a nice offspring or juvenile.
(Sandro 3 years old - Papa-)
* This biting wasn't to hurt, it was for mating. . .Yeh I know, why my hand ? *

As for the vivarium or terrarium (the gecko's habitat) you can actualy make one yourself if you or your family have been keeping some old furnitures or just are a handyman (there are alot of tutorials with cheap new materials on reptile forums). My grand-father was actualy a clockworker and jeweler so he had alot of display cabinet, so I retransformed two of those into 3 habitats (1 of the cabinet was large enough for two offspring) and thus saved about 300 $. Of course I admit my father helped, being a young lady I don't really have these aptitudes.
( Eugene, 1 year old - the oldest son -)
      * You might not see it, but Eugene lost his tail, it won't grow back like some other geckos but it is not something critical for them, in their life span, the chance for this to happen are kind of high. . . He is still cute *

So once you have the habitat and the gecko you just need some decorations for the lizard to hide and once again you can do alot without paying again like finding drift wood, cook it to kill bugs and bacteria, etc. Also if you feel more fancy you can put real plants in the habitat which makes a huge difference in the beauty of the environnement.

Once you have it all, the cost to maintain such an animal is awesomely low ! Substrate is cheap, and need to be changed once a month, food is cheap (crickets and Crested Gecko Diet), and daily cares are really not taking alot of times.

When I started getting into Crested Gecko I fell on this magnificient website http://www.jbscresties.com/, JB is a women breeding and giving A LOT of pertinent informations, she has a youtube channel with alot of informative videos, she also has really nice critters to sell ( if I would live in the USA I would have bought from her ). She has given me nice advice through mails when I was incubating my first eggs and when they hatched, so if you feel an interest in Crested Geckos, she is to me, a must see.
(and at last Yuri, 1 years old - the younger sister)
             * This photo was taken 2 weeks after she hatched, just to show you how a offspring can look like *

So comments if you want informations or just talk !
Have a nice day !

Northern Lights

I did some discovery today with this fabulous website http://www.asc-csa.gc.ca/eng/astronomy/auroramax/default.asp which shows in real time northern lights. A little sad about this awesome idea is . . . The weather ! Of course, if the weather isn't great you can't see them, but hey Canada isn't THAT awesome enough to make the bad weather go away, so deal with it ! Also, it get's online at about 9 p.m (at Yellowknife which has a -1 hour difference with Quebec) So depending where you live, it might be a good idea to conciderate the time difference. The other thing sad about it is the small camera. Anyhow, I am watching it right now . . . And it's cloudy in Yellowknife, that all I can say ! But i'll check it out some other days because seriously ! SERIOUSLY ! Northern lights are awesome, I had the chance to see them once in my life outside of my home ( which isn't that common ) and it was fabulous. Yellowknife has them about everynights except during summer due to the night sun and with only this I think it's worth to visit them even tho it's quite far away . . .

Good night ! Tomorrow morning I have a class on Cognitive problems (Alias : the Brain class, because I seriously can't remember most of the time the name of this class. . .)

I leave you with this. . . aaaawww so cute :)

Update day 1 : The camera isn't playing, but I think it is because of a snow fall in Yellowknife. . .
Update day 2 : The sky is still covered, so no Northern Lights it says on friday there should be a few clouds so maybe I will get more chances. I won't give up !
Update day 3 : Yeh the sky is clear ! :D but we are near the full moon so it's quite lighten up but I might see some anyway :) -> didn't see any :(
Update day 4 : Cloudy again (and I bet you are wondering how much days i'll keep it up)
Udate day 5 : Cloudy and dark, the moon is lightening up alot less, which is good
Update day 6 : Cloudy and dark again, sooo dark that it looks has if it was the end of the world over there D:
Update day 7 : Tonight's the night ! I finaly have some northern lights LIVE NOW ! There are there, but I know they can be more beautiful then right now so i'll stay tuned  8)

First Post !!!

Welcome ! This is my first blog ever so please be kind . I guess a little presentation would be somewhat important. . . My name is Anne-Marie, I am a French Canadian ( also called Québécois ) so yeah French is my first language. Even tho English is a magnificient practical language I can't deny my love for my culture so I might share a few text about how things works here. . . I am also a University student, I study in the psychology and human sciences  field.

I have a passion for different cultures; you may notice Japanese alot, but please share your culture I like to learn new things ^ ^ . For the other stuff I like you will discover on time . . .
